Description

Built by Jean Bader, creator of the CSIRO Education chemistry lab, to fill the hole left by their closure.

How Materials Work is a chemical sciences hands-on lab suitable for up to 30 students per session. Students can practice measurement, timing, observation, fair testing and sorting with activities and experiments on viscocity, physical properties, indicators, polymers, heating and cooling.

 

All recording-sheets and information is provided - students will only need their pencils and brains.

Requirements:

A room with space for the students to move around, access to water, access to electricity, space to set-up 5 separate activity stations with space for 6 students at each station (there will be 3 copies of each activity at each station).

Cost:

$200 +GST per session

Minimum of 2 sessions

Travel costs may apply:
$25 +GST per hour, first hour free

 

Discounts:

3 sessions in one full day:

-$10 +GST per session

3 of the same session in one full day:

-$20 +GST per session

3+ full days in 1 week:

extra -$5 +GST per session

Disadvantaged Schools (Category 1- 4):

-$30 +GST per session, no other discounts apply.

 

Payments

An invoice will be delivered on the day after an accurate student count. Payment is due via cash, cheque or bank transfer within 7 days.
