Description

We begin this 90 minute astronomy workshop by exploring the movement of objects in the night sky, the phases of the moon and the movement of the earth, with students using props and their own bodies to model the changes. Then you have a choice:

Option 1: Rockets

We go outside to explore rockets by setting off a variety of different (and flameless) rocket models, comparing and contrasting the models with what your students already know about real rockets.

Option 2: The Solar System

We explore the planets, asteroids, dwarf planets and star that make up our solar system. Using accurate scale pictures of the planets and your students' bodies we will help your students get some tiny inkling of the vast scale of space.
