International Power’s Pelican Point Power Station is one of the most efficient power stations in the southern hemisphere.  Bring your students to find out how and why. 

Mobile Science Education is pleased to announce that in our first year of operating the Pelican Point Tour (2009) we had 2261 visitors come through the program.

The Pelican Point Power Station Tour is re-establishing its reputation as a trusted and respected educational resource for South Australian students of any age. 

Each 90 minute program is FREE and includes:

  • Interactive Science Show and Activities
  • Tour of the Plant
  • Visit to the Control Room to meet the operators

When:

Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from mid January to the end of Term 4

Times:

9.30am - 11.00am, 11.15am - 12.45pm,
1pm - 2.30pm

Age:

R – 12,
Age Appropriate Programs for Primary & Secondary Students

Where:

Pelican Point, Outer Harbor (Click here for a map)
Public transport is not available to the Power Station - alternative arrangements (bus hire/parents' cars, etc) will have to be made.

How Many:

Up to 30 students per 90 minute tour

Mobile Science Education has been operating this successful Industry Tour since January 1st 2009.  The program, which began its life with the Investigator Science and Technology Centre, is being extensively redesigned to be brought up to date and in line with the SACSA Framework.
