What is MSE?
Mobile Science Education is a South Australian based science education support service that comes to you.
MSE has been offering science incursions since 2006, and has since grown steadily with interactive shows, hands-on workshops, industry tours and professional development presented to an audience that's now over 35,000 students and teachers in schools across SA every year.
It is our mission to raise the profile of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in the minds of young people, engage our community with STEM education and discovery, and to improve science literacy and critical thinking in order that Australians might be equal to the challenges of Climate Change and 21st century society.
To achieve our mission, our aims are:
1. To engage children and their caregivers with the thought processes of science and the excitement of discovery through the development and delivery of exemplary education programs in support of, and in partnership with, the education sector.
2. To engage with industry and government partners to raise the profile of renewable energy and sustainable technologies among young people and caregivers.
3. To elevate the discussion of Climate Change in schools to accurately reflect the seriousness of the situation and the urgency of a co-ordinated nation-wide response.
4. To provide first-class professional development opportunities to teachers to support their work in boosting STEM literacy and Critical Thinking in classrooms.
“A high standard of STEM education is a necessary part of being a well-rounded human being living in the 21st century.”
“The integrity of the scientific process and the integrity of the knowledge discovered are paramount – we do not knowingly misrepresent, spin, shade, overstate or understate the science in any of our activities.”
“We don’t just entertain – we engage!”
